Matte Diaz joined Core Wealth Advisors, Inc. after a long career as a professional baseball player. Matte’s responsibilities focus on business development and assisting with client relationships and communication making use of his keen interest in financial and wealth management that began during his time as a professional athlete.
After serving as a two-year starter at Florida State University and leading the Seminoles to two College World Series appearances, Matte began his professional baseball career with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 1999. During his tenure with the Atlanta Braves, Matte tied and continues to hold a share of the National League continuous hit record at 10 hits.
Upon his retirement from professional baseball in 2014, Matte joined the Atlanta Braves pre-game and postgame telecast on Fox Sports South as a contributing commentator. He currently serves as a baseball analyst for MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM in addition to his day-to-day at Core Wealth.
Matte was raised in Lakeland, Florida, attended Santa Fe High School and currently resides in Winter Haven, Florida with his wife Leslee and their three children.
Matte’s passions include fishing, golfing, part time broadcasting, and most of all time with his family. Matte and Leslee have served many roles for a number of charities both local and nationwide.
