Eric Powell joined Core Wealth Advisors as a Financial Advisor specializing in the needs of small business owners and the intricacies of the Florida Retirement System, guiding clients on the path toward and through retirement. He holds the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) designation issued by the College for Financial Planning.

Eric began his professional life as a small business owner in high school – running and managing his own lawn and landscape business. The call to public service led Eric to join Polk County Fire Rescue in 2006 ultimately achieving the rank of Lieutenant during his eight year career. With a desire to experience other parts of the country, Eric made the decision to sell his business, leave Polk County Fire Rescue and move to California with his wife, Melissa. After joining a Fortune 500 financial management firm and with the impending arrival of their daughter, the desire to be around family brought Eric back to Lakeland.

Eric’s past experience as an entrepreneur and working in the public service sector provides a practical vantage point when planning for retirement and beyond.

Eric is a Rotarian in The Lakeland Rotary Club and is the club administration committee chair. He is also the treasurer of CampFire Sunshine Central Florida, a board member of READ Lakeland and an active volunteer at his church. In his downtime, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife Melissa and their daughter Adalyn.
